Tobogganing in Basel and the surrounding region

Tobogganing

Whether in summer or winter, tobogganing is one of the most popular leisure activities for families in Baselland. The speedy descents give you an adrenaline rush and guarantee maximum fun for all ages.

Tobogganing in summer: Solarbob Langenbruck

The Solarbob at Langenbruck is the world's first solar-powered toboggan run. You and your children zip along a kilometre-long track and around turns at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

The adventure begins with the ascent, where you are pulled uphill sitting in a bob either alone or in pairs. Then it's time for the downhill section: no matter whether you're a speed demon or would rather tootle along and enjoy the scenery – you choose the speed by using the lever on your bob.

The Solarbob track near Langenbruck features numerous banked turns and a short tunnel. One special highlight is the 540° roundabout – the only one of its kind in the whole of Europe! And if you want to know who in your family was fastest, the free speed measurement provides all the race results.

In the tunnel of the toboggan run lift you can enjoy beverages and small snacks at the kiosk bar while watching toboggans pass by. For a larger meal, the garden with space for over 100 guests and the pyramid tent with more than 70 seats offer a regular menu.

Those who weren't able to quench their thirst for adventure with a toboggan run can also let off steam in the neighbouring rope park or enjoy a brisk hike along one of the hiking trails in and around Langenbruck.
